Byungsun Yoon

Byungsun Yoon is a co-founder and Co-CEO of ACRO and the company's Digital CRO expert — a specialist in clinical data standards and HL7-based data flow. With an engineering background and ongoing graduate study in Regulatory Innovation through Science, he brings more than fifteen years of experience building the digital systems and data infrastructure that modern clinical trials run on.

He spent his career at a leading domestic CRO across IT, database design, and data management, ultimately as a research manager in its clinical platform research institute. He has served as principal investigator on the development of a next-generation electronic data capture (EDC) system at a national university hospital, and as a co-investigator on national R&D programs spanning smart clinical trial technologies, an AI-based clinical validation platform, and a digital real-world-data clinical trial platform.

His expertise defines ACRO's Digital CRO capability — making clinical trials more efficient through data, from protocol design through risk-based quality management (RBQM). He works across clinical data standards, HL7 data interoperability, and real-world data infrastructure, and is PMP- and CISA-certified, with deep grounding in clinical data standardization.
